Title: When does the game end at?
Post by: Grail_Tomah on November 13, 2011, 02:56:11 AM
I must say that I've been playing Melolune for a two days now, and it's quite delicious... But this game is a demo right? When does the game end? I dunno if this has been already asked, but I started asking the question right after Star Night in the game.
Anyhow thanks in advance...

When you see the guy with the sunglasses in the header at the top of this forum, you're getting close to the end of the demo.  It's a pretty lengthy demo.

Haha, that's a good way to put it!  The demo is about 2.5 hours long, but it varies based on your play style.  Some people like to spend time level grinding, talking to each NPC, and exploring all the hidden areas... Some people blitz through it really quickly... so it all depends.  The entire game will be about 15-20 hours long.

Now I'm berry much confirmed that the demo can't be played through in less than 7 hours... unless you do a speedrun or something.
How the hell you guys finish it earlier? o_o

Maybe it's just that I explore everything - if I'd really concentrate on just doing what I must, I suppose I'd finish much earlier. Though now that I replayed the game, I though to do so; still I couldn't resist talking to everyone and trying to trigger all existing scripts this time too - I didn't remember all those little details from last year. Though this has the benefit that I'm much more likely to detect sequence breaking bugs like points 4 and 6 in my report (http://www.supershigi.com/forums/index.php?topic=131.0).

Anyway, it seems my second playthrough was actually longer than my first one (with ~20-30 minutes). I don't understand why, since I didn't take that much time in Leeble Village like the first time, didn't fight that many enemies, didn't sweet the Ciro soldier camp again after I saved Aero, and I didn't explore in places where I remembered there's nothing. Though this time I went to Basho when I should have gone to the Swamp, just to see if I can trigger a sequence breaking bug there. (I couldn't - nice job, Shigi!) But still it shouldn't make my playthrough longer, because later I got Andy, I went straight to the checking station... So I think it's a mistery I'll never know.

Time flies when games run. ^^
