Title: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: SuperRoo on June 05, 2013, 06:48:08 AM
Just thought I would start a thread for everyone who is excited to play the new Animal Crossing. :) Also, if you want to share friend codes so we can visit each others villages here we can do that as well.

Counting down the days!!  :pompoms: :pompoms:

My game finally came and I have been playing ever since. My town has pears. And I almost got stung by bees. Almost.

^ I want to do that so we don't have to plan out ahead of time to visit each others towns, we can just see each other online and say "wanna come over?"

Spellbunny, when are you usually playing? TrueFoe and I have ours set up already, but I want to add you too. And when Shigi finds her 3DS we will need to put her in as well. :)

Won't be playing today as it is my hubby's birthday, but might sneak on if I can. LOL.

I can play today if you plan to sneak on for a few minutes :) We have some people coming over for dinner but before that I could! I'm home all day so I just play.. all the time..  <3

edit: I happened to be on at the same time as TRUEfoe and got to visit his town! good fun!
I'll be on in an hour Roooooooooooo!

Are you having problems staying connected to the internet? I find that mine pops on and off a lot, and so my gate closes, or I don't see my bestie list working, even though my actual internet is up and just fine. Curious if it's a Nintendo issue.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: SuperRoo on June 17, 2013, 03:54:31 PM
You know how you can listen in when two of your townsfolk are talking to each other? Mine were having the silliest convo last night! I was reading it out loud to my hubby and we were both cracking up. They were talking about butts. And how butts are important, and you need a butt for things.

This is especially funny because several years ago I wrote a poem called "Ode to my Butt", in which I talk about how I wouldn't be able to do much without it. :)

I agree! That would be a lot of fun.

Yep, if you ever see two of them together, just walk up and press the a button to eavesdrop.

Since I haven't been able to find my 3DS, after seeing Danielle's Animal Crossing themed one (with the extra large screen), I'm strongly considering just ordering one of those.

I wish I could afford 3DS or even DS to that matter. Seems like you guys have a lot of fun.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: SuperRoo on June 23, 2013, 09:01:41 PM
I "died"! There was a big black spider, I tried to catch it, but it bit me and I fell over and the screen went black. A few seconds later I came back out of my house again. But I think it gave me bad luck because all day today when I run I keep falling on my face. :) Beware of black spiders all.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: supershigi on June 24, 2013, 09:35:37 PM
Ahh! I remember that from the DS version... spiders and scorpions would knock you out like that, and it felt really scary when it happened, because you don't really pass out in that game the way you do in platformers or something :P  I didn't know about the clumsiness though, that's so funny/cute!

Just a few more days... well, they said between 6/27 and 7/2... so hopefully soon!  I'm super excited!
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: TRUEfoe on June 25, 2013, 06:41:30 PM
That wait is gonna be pretty rough Laura!  lol.  Are you buying the game digitally?  We've been doing a lot of trading and chatting in game.  They have this neat new feature called Best Friends.  It's a little buggy cause sometimes you have to turn it off and back on to see people online, but it lets you always chat with your friends and say what'sup, or wish your favorite "Super" person a happy birthday!  ;)

TRUEfoe's planning on enacting the "Big Spender" law in his town so that friends can come anytime to sell their stuff for a LOT more!  ;)  Gates will be open all the times!  =P  Heeeheeee.  Must... make... more bells..
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: spellbunny on June 25, 2013, 07:53:30 PM
WOO going to your town from now on to SELL ALL THE THINGS.

I've been going to the island late at night to collect all the hard to find beetles and selling them for tons of bells  <3

Post by: SuperRoo on June 25, 2013, 10:34:18 PM
Nice one! Is the Giant Stag a bug?

Yes, the Best Friends feature is pretty cool, but it is buggy. I seem to have a problem with it dropping connection a lot of times. So if it seems like I am not there, even when I probably am, you will know why. Still very fun though!
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

I am so angry right now! I went to open my town (I enabled Street Pass right before... but I didn't do anything else; no moving of data to the SD card or anything), and it tells me that my data is corrupted and the save file will be deleted! What the heck, Nintendo!??  I haven't deleted it yet, because I'm not sure if something can be done to salvage it, but this really makes me upset.

@Shigi awww that really sucks :(  usually that's no fault of you, and the system decides to dump the data.

Oh noes Laura!  That's terrible news!  =(  TRUEfoe's never seen that one before.  :'(  It's dangerous to have your gates open and close your 3DS screen btw, had some bugs and fish disappear and the game restarted when he did that.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: SuperRoo on June 30, 2013, 09:28:25 AM
Oh no Shigi! That's a bummer. :( I don't know what you can do about that.

@TrueFOE I left you some lemons, but it looks like you had found some already. Wow you have a lot of fruit! :)
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: spellbunny on June 30, 2013, 09:34:48 AM
Laura, I heard about that happened to people but it would just negate their days work and not the whole save file. hopefully you can pick up again and it won't give you an error!! :(

Truefoe and roo, do you guys have durians and lychees? I can give you some! I think I have most of the fruit now :)

I looked online for a solution and apparently this issue was common on an XL with digitalies copies and it turned out to be a faulty SD card.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: supershigi on June 30, 2013, 02:34:44 PM
Thanks you guys... I think I'm gonna try and get an SD card before starting another town, because I'd be heart broken if it happened again (especially if I put months into it).  I wonder if they have them at Target?

Also, wow! I didn't know they had durians and lychees and lemons!  That's awesome... are the durians super huge??

lychees and lemons are from the tropical island. I won't say anything else because it's fun to discover the things that unlock as you play the game! :)

durians look pretty funny but I don't think they're bigger than any other fruit!

It's july so the cicadas are everywhere! get your bug nets out :D

My 3DS code is: 4914 - 3454 - 9296
My native fruit is oranges, and my house is a mess...I always find myself scavenging for whatever I can find at the start of the game, just to make it feel less empty, it's only much later when I actually can start turning the house into something...plausible.

On the subject of 3DS,
I've got other games, including MarioKart 7, Kid Icarus, Luigi's Mansion, Monster Hunter (although it doesn't have online multiplayer) - and many more to come; too much good stuff coming out for the 3DS!

@Hirei and @Pat have you two added our friend codes? I have input both of yours, but until you do the same I won't see you on my friends list.

Speaking of codes, I have a dream address if you want to try it: 4700-2247-7453

It would be fun to have a guild night for Animal Crossing! What would we call that though, it's not actually a guild? LOL, maybe an "pack night", like an animal pack. But it would be nice to talk on Vent and go out to the island together. Trying to type in the game is a pain in the bum. :)

I just had an idea to try to do a scavenger hunt, I could bury letters in the ground with clues to find more letters that lead to a prize. I don't know if it would work because the letter would have to be addressed to the person to be able to read it. I guess I could plan individual scavenger hunts for each of you!

Just want to give a quick tip, even if it's not a very impressive one...

Remember that when the game is suspended and you go "Home", there's a notes button - the pencil icon. With this, some potential uses I can think of:

1) Draw out your map, potentially with a key on another note page, and mark things like:
2) Set daily tasks for yourself, to remind yourself what you want to get done everyday, and check them off - I mean, there's things I *have* to do ritualistically when I play Animal Crossing.  :)

These deal with forgetfulness and consistency, sure, but I'm sure there's plenty more uses - I just want to make use of everything the 3DS offers, and I think the notes could really pay off when using Animal Crossing, so it's just some food for thought, I suppose. Any other tips regarding this feature would be appreciated.

Possible dumb question, but about the minerals, does anyone know if they have a special use or meaning? I think they are cool, but they don't seem to sell for much, and you can't put them in the museum, so I am curious about if there is a use that hasn't been revealed yet that I am missing.

Also, still having spotty internet (pretty sure it's the heat wave), so I haven't been able to connect to the dream suite. Anyone do that yet? What is it like?
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: Pat on July 04, 2013, 01:57:45 PM
For the minerals, the most obvious thing to do is to sell them.
But, somewhere in the future in the game, you're allowed to use it to colourise certain furniture, so I've heard.

Ahh!  I remember the first time I got stung by a scorpion in the DS version... it WAS scary!  Somehow I actually managed to catch one this time around, although I think it might have been in my first town (before the save file got corrupted)... I'll have to try again, haha XD

In a very sad twist of fate, playing my DS has made a neck/shoulder issue flare up in a major way. That means I haven't been able to visit my town for almost 4 whole days! Things are getting better, but now I am scared to play again because I don't want to be in pain... but I am dying to play too!

I need to rig something up that will hold my DS for me in a different position or something. Time to brainstorm. :)

@bufkus: Wait, there are persimmons in this game?? There is so much I do not know... Ack, that reminds me, I gotta add your friend code!  I haven't played in a little while, I think I have accumulated weeds.

@SuperRoo: Oh no!! I'm so sorry to hear that :(  I can totally imagine how that would happen, too.. I often play all hunched over (or I'll strain my neck from laying on my stomach and playing for too long).  I wonder if there's a more ergonomic way to play 3DS... if I hear of anything, I'll definitely let you know.  Well... I certainly hope you feel better soon!  And when you do, PARTY AT TRUEfoe's!

Why thanks, there's new additions to my music room now. I'd probably have to take several screenshots to show them all.

Also there's been something that's been pestering me for awhile. My villagers keep asking for cherries, which is the only fruit I don't have. Typically I don't ask these kinda things but, would anyone happen to have a cherry?
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: SuperRoo on September 03, 2013, 10:24:51 AM
I think we all have cherries we can share. We need to plan a time when we can all hop on and go to your town to bring them. Unless there is a way to mail a cherry to someone you have a code for? I don't know if that is possible, but I am sure there are many things I don't know how to do! :)

That would be nice, thanks in advance when get it to happen. And I've tried to see if it was possible to mail someone on your friends, and it didn't, which is a bummer because that would be so useful!

So, when you don't play for awhile you have to start things over with the Llama and Able Sisters? Is that right? Or was that just a bug?

I've been really thinking of getting this if the forum members have it, but I always like to research and get reviews by people I know personally about the game. I've never played an animal crossing, but I've always wanted to. Tell me what i'm missing (or not missing) guys and gals!

I would say get it. I was in the same boat as you before I got it. Before this I've never played an Animal Crossing game, and after getting it I found it strangely addicting haha. And there's alot of things to do in game like managing your town, building your house, making designs for clothes and what not. Overall its a really fun game, first few days might be a little slow but as your town grows, so is the amount of things you can do. I very much recommend this game!

I knew we had an Animal Crossing: New Leaf thread here somewhere, haha! I thought I'd revive it in case anyone was still playing. As I've mentioned recently, I'm pretty into it right now. I like to play it for a little bit while I drink my tea in the mornings :)

I'm curious if it's possible to post 3DS screenshots directly to the forum or other online places... I have some cute ones from when SuperRoo came to visit!

Yes! It's quiet easy if you log into the forum from your 3DS browser. The other way would be to remove your card and download the photos to your computer. I have some cute ones from your visit too that I need to get up here.

^It's in the museum (those rooms upstairs that you can "rent" for 10k Bells)! Hehe^^ At first I was just using the museum to store stuff, but then I thought, "hm, I wonder if I could actually design things I'd want to have in my town"... So now I've got a restaurant and PC cafe up there. One of the rooms is kind of messy right now; it's got toys and Gyroids. And the other room is kind of a WIP... I called it Balloon Mushroom Land WIP because it's got balloon and mushroom furniture, so random haha.

Oooh, let me know if she's in town and you need help with the outfits! I still have mine (including 3 pieces of Modern clothes now) so I can drop them off if she asks you for a theme you don't have enough of ^_^ I'm so happy you got your Shrunk Funk Shuffle!!

I always get sad about the snowmen melting... reminds me of when I was a kid and I watched Frosty the Snowman. I remember being REALLY sad for some reason; like I cried and everything during that greenhouse scene. I think I even had dreams about it afterwards. I like that the snowman says they'll come back as snow, or as another snowman though... it makes me feel better ^_^

Oh yeah, so I posted this pic online today and Reives Photoshopped a little cloud over him so he could come back to life haha! So cool, I had to share ^_^

I keep getting sporty animals moving into town. Seriously, I have like 3 with that personality (you know the kind that say "ladybro"). Is there something special to make different personality types move in over others? Or is it random?

I guess I could ask for one to move out, but that seems to mean! What does that do in your game if you report a problem citizen too? I've always wondered.
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

I am almost done with the Rococo set... I just need two more pieces! The clock and the table... The store had the clock, but it was on the ONE day I didn't play (seriously, it was like the one day I missed in like a 6 month period) >_< I really would like to get the table though, since I need it for my tea room, hehe :)

On a different note... have any of you been getting the DLC? I blame AC for making me eat at McDonald's (though last time I was good and got a salad haha) because I really wanted to get the special items (a sushi platter, a paper hat like the one the Boy in Rakuen wears, some items that were only available before in the Japanese version).

Haha! I don't know why, but reading the "ladybro" comment cracked me up XD I think out of all the personality types, the sporty animals feel the most generic to me... they seem to repeat things more often. As for why certain personality types move in, I'm actually not sure... I'm curious if there's some sort of system.

You know, I'm also really curious about what would happen if you reported a "problem citizen." I've never done it before for the same reason you mentioned, haha (it felt too mean). Though in my previous Animal Crossing games, I think there were a couple citizens I would have been fine with "reporting" LOL... One thing you could do about the abundance of sporty animals is just ignore them, and they'll eventually move out :)

After more than a year, I *FINALLY* completed the whole Rococo series!! ^_____^

Quick question for you guys... do any of you have the tea set?

Also, I was reading about crazy Dream towns and I came upon this one:
3000-0845-9227

Apparently there are a lot of things there that wouldn't be possible unless the owner somehow hacked their village. This for example:

So. Happy Home Designer. Totally have it and liking it alot more than I was expecting I would. With how the controls work to decorate the animals' houses, I feel like they use should the same system for the next regular Animal Crossing game, it'd help with placement of your own personal furniture. Of course the old way still works perfectly fine, just saying that the new system is pretty intuitive and would add to the even more structure to the normal games.

Anyway enough technical stuff, Happy Home Designer pretty fun so far and I'm liking it alot so far. Nice different take on the Animal Crossing series.

I was also surprised that there was a commercial on TV for it!!

So far it's pretty different from New Leaf and other games. You get to build houses and the town, with more options becoming open as you move forward in the game. I don't know what happens when the town is all built, I'm excited to see what it is though, and if my character gets a house.

Are you going to buy it?

I've been playing Happy Home designer for a bit and am a little disappointed because it seems that there are some features you can't use w/out the Amiibos. :(

My villagers are complaining about the teacher not being great, but I can't reassign them to another character in the game (unless I am just missing something), it asks for an Amiibo. I would love to have the Amiibo stuff, it would be a lot of fun, but it's a bummer to make it so you can't do things without them.

Aww i didn't realise the amiibo cards were so important. I've got a few packs I found at Argos just after it came out but not used any of them yet. I'm enjoying the game quite a bit its very relaxing to play :D

Wow, this game really IS impressive! ^_^ It's so dang cute too! I'm trying to remember everyone's name's because they're so lovable and awesome. I feel extremely bad I don't remember the one on the train that loves to talk, he's my favourite so far - but Isabelle is mega cute, and I love Lucky and Gloria is pretty cute too since she's an awesome duck ^_^

Since AC:NL is my first ever DS game I've ever played, this is also my first time using a DS at all, so it's fun figuring out what controls do what, and I love you can walk and run using the C-stick (that's what it's called right?)

So I've basically done the initiation stage of the game - naming my town (I called mine 'Deantown' haha... sadly 'Deanville' didn't fit :), chose where I wanted my house (I put it above Lucky's I think, RIGHT next to the water, so I can, and I quote Tom "fish and enjoy nature" :D) Too bad the first time I tried, I couldn't put my house there cause it was too close to a cliff HAHAHA!

Man, a tent with a mailbox?! I'm SET FOR LIFE xD Can't wait when my house is set up though! Thanks to my awesome assistant Isabelle (I hope you can give townsfolk gifts!), she got me registered as a citizen of Deantown, and gave me a ..... UTS? UTP? something Town Pass, ah, forgot what's it called! ^_^

Then I planted a sapling tree with much love in an official ceremony ^_^ Man, I loved that so much!

It's not just that this is such a cute game, but all the characters, the atmosphere, the environment, are just so cute and happy. From all the war games I've played and the like going on in the real world, it's so great and relaxing to have such a genuinely happy game I can sink into! ^_^

Can't wait to tell you guys more YAY! ^_^ Can't wait to actually visit everyone's town! XD

I LOVE ANIMAL CROSSING: NEW LEAF WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO *hugs everyone cause I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy inside ^_^*

I'm so happy you're enjoying it! "Deantown" hehe, I like that :P

I think you'll really like it as the game progresses; they put so much effort into the world. There is SO much dialogue, and lots of really neat details and secrets (I've been playing for over a year... moreso if you count previous versions of Animal Crossing... and I'm *still* discovering new things).
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

We really need to find a time we can play together. What is your native fruit Dean? We can bring more to you as a gift if we visit your town so you can start growing all of them. :)

There are so many little details in the game that I love. Like I said, be sure to run around when it's raining. Also do it on the snow (do you get snow in real life? there is a sound that it makes in real life and they do it in the game too)!
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: Astragoth on November 07, 2015, 08:25:01 AM
@ Laura - Yeh, it's a REALLY great game so far, I'm having a lot of fun playing it ^_^ Yeh, my friend told me I should look up a guide to find all the secrets I'm missing after I've played for a while, but that just ruins all the fun and exploration of the game. No thanks! :)

I haven't played a whole lot more, but I did talk to Isabelle, and she helped me out a lot with my 'mayoral duties' in the form of questions. Town flag, the town tune, if citizens need help.HAHA omg, my town tune is all over the place when I created it and I made it sound intentionally crazy and slightly high pitched, to impress upon the fact that all those who come to Deantown know the mayor is absolutely crazy and slightly insane :P.... Nice!.... but insane XD BAHAHAHA! Seriously though, I hope I do a great job running the town. I love all the citizens that live there, so I'll totally feel bad if I'm not doing a good job. And that's rare for a video game!

Having said that, I do love the real day / time aspect of the game. I was shaking down trees for cherries (and I guess that answers one of my questions into what my 'native fruit' is), picking up every bunch of flowers I could (though I left flowers and cherries for the rest of my townsfolk - don't want to be greedy and take everything :), and I was like "OOH! My bags are full!... That's ok, I'll go ahead and sell at the Recycle Shop!"

Until I got there, tried opening the door and was greeted with a message telling me - "I'm sorry, this shop is only open from 10am - 11pm, please check again later", or something like that. HAHA, it was like 1am when I was playing, so was like OOOH! That's neat! ^_^ Really adds to the immersion! Though my same friend who plays AC tells me I'll get annoyed at that later, and change my 3DS day / time settings to skip all that to grow my garden and the like. Maybe! But not right now :P

I don't really know how to take a screenshot, and I've zero knowledge on how to set up a Nintendo ID and add friends, though I guess I can find out later. Would be awesome to add you guys if that's cool with you all! ^_^

*gives everyone Cherries from Deantown*  :tea:

Oh man, you know I've taken like a billion screenshots, but for some reason off the top of my head I can't remember how I do it (apparently the instructions are stored in my brain via muscle memory only, haha). It's something like pressing both the R and L buttons at the same time... but next time I play I will observe what I do and let you know, haha. You'll know you're doing it correctly because it will make a camera noise. To see your screenshots, go into the main menu at anytime and find the camera icon app... they all get stored there ^_^

I'm still trying to learn all of their names - but Isabelle is the one I remember 100%! Like Reese, she's so adorable and loves a good chat, and she's also SUPER friendly! It's been a long time since I've played a video game that has characters you just want to connect with, but yeh, she's super awesome and cute <3

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So, after exploring pretty much all of my town (both the residential surroundings, the beach, and the shops), minus all the houses, since I seem to catch the residents when they're out for a walk, or in the case of an hour ago, sleeping ("Don't wake me up please, I need my beauty sleep" hahahaha XD), I thought I'd start with my mayoral duties ^_^

According to the House Estate shop owner, I need a LOT of Bells (think its 10,000?). Of course, in my case, forget about the house and stick with the Tent, since as soon as I got 3-4k of Bells, I spend it all - got a Guitar, a padded blindfold item (forgot what they're called, but you use them when you go to sleep), and a lovely blue hat! ^_^

Of course, I did spend some of my Bells wisely, on a Fishing Rod and a Shovel :D So this happened yesterday.

Today, I started saving up Bells for the down payment on my house, so I started to fish and dig up stuff - found a few fossils which I donated to the museum (one I held on to in case I could sell it, which for some reason I can't - probably missing something), but it was the FISHING that was so fun! After a lot of really bad aims lining up my fishing line with the fish shadow, I got a fish!............then realised he had eaten my bait HAHAHA! This happened a few more times, but I got the hang of it - so far caught only 2 fish! Love how the fish 'test out' the bobber before trying to get the bait ^_^

Anyway, I'm halfway done to getting a down payment on my house, and as fun as it is, I'm kinda tired of living in a Tent HAHAHAHA ^_^

P.S. Laura, you'll be pleased to know an NPC ingame actually taught me how to use the camera, and you were right, you hold down the L button and press the R one. Or, as I learned, you can hold R and press the L button, which is pretty neat! :)

P.P.S. I've got some paper that I'll start writing letters on and mail them to different people, and I've already left a note on the notice board in town ^_^

MAN THIS GAME IS SO DANG AWESOME! <3

Ah, I didn't realize you couldn't sell unidentified fossils! Well, I know for sure you can sell ones that have been identified... so if you'd like to sell it, just take it to the museum and have the Owl identify it. Then instead of donating, you can just take it back and sell it^^ Some fossils sell for quite a lot!

Ahh awesome! I love writing notes to the townsfolk! I wish we could write letters to other players as well, but unfortunately they don't have that feature.

I guess I did something completely wrong yesterday, cause I was able to sell unidentified fossils today to Reese (Stacy's fav :D), and yeh, I got a LOT of Bells for the 3 I had on me at the time - sold many more since then :D

I've only given 2 fossils to Blanche? the Owl (sorry I woke you up in the daytime, my bad!), since I've been trying to save for the stupid down payment for my house haha. Ok, it's not really stupid, it's my own fault. I have this exact same problem in WoW. Everytime I try and save up for something, I get distracted and buy something I don't REALLY need at the time. After I bought all that stuff the other day I didn't really need, I bought MORE stuff I didn't really need, cause I don't have a house yet!

I got a bed, a chair - that I gave to another NPC (forgot her name - she's the one that likes being single - she gave me a table in return) and then realised I had already bought one that was sitting in my tent :S, so yeh FREE TABLE WOOT! ^_^), a Clothes Drawer, and something COMPLETELY pointless at my stage of the game.... a Coconut Palm tree. Oh yeh, then I got distracted again and bought a Birdbath. Seriously there's NO room left in my tent, what the heck is wrong with me! XD

Anyway, after doing a LOT of NPC 'quests' today which were SOOO much fun (don't worry, won't give it away), back-and-forths between picking up stuff / fishing / digging, I FINALLY got the down-payment to my house :D And I believe I have like a 64 or 67 Approval Rating! WOOT :D

There's always so much new stuff going on everytime I play, it's awesome! Like today, it was raining, and everyone (but me cause I LOVE the rain), had umbrellas. One of them has like a fiery decal umbrella, which looks so cool! ^_^

P.S. Do you guys have any tips to improve the Approval Rating? I've changed my theme tune, helped out citizens, and apparently water the flowers. How on earth (excuse the expression), do you do that? Are the flowers the ones you pick them up? The shop also doesn't seem to sell one of those garden water jug thingies either (forgot what they're called XD). Thanks heaps in advance if you have some better hints ^_^

P.P.S. As soon as I somehow get my Twitter integrated to my screenshots, I'll post some pics :D

So I haven't played AC in a week, and my residents made me feel totally guilty about it :( I'm really sorry!

Anyway, I was told there was someone new that moved in today, so I gave her the whole mayoral greeting and made her feel totally welcome ^_^ Then talked with all the other townsfolk, did quests for most of them - no items in the store today that I could water plants with (again :S)

Then I was like - Ok, I'm gonna go visit Isabelle, see how my citizen approval rating is coming along............I GOT TO 100% TODAY!!!! WOOOOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO XD ^_^ I was so happy and excited on reaching this goal I honestly nearly dropped my DS! HAHAHA XD

And now I have to wait a day or maybe longer for it to get approved, hope its the former! Also, Gloria told me that tomorrow that Deantown is holding a Fishing Tourney!

I. LOVE. FISHING! <3

Oh nice Laura! ^_^ Has your town changed at all while you've been away? And man, Budd and Cheri in my town wanted to move away the past few days, I absolutely love both of them, especially Cheri! I feel so self-centred making them stay in my town since they want to see the world, but if they leave, I'll get really sad. So I pick being self-centred and make them stay haha, I'm such an evil mayor I guess :P

A lot has happened to my town over my last post here, though I'm not gonna explain it all here, since there's just way too much ^_^ But I did visit my real life friend's town (traded friend codes with her), and she visited mine too :) Unfortunately I didn't feel so well that night, and slept it off, with her telling me she had left some presents in my town. So when I woke up the next day feeling loads better, imagine my surprise when I went into my town, and she had PAID OFF my Camping Site town project!!!! All 58,000 bells or whatever that I had left to pay!

I want to get her something for her town, but to be honest, she's been playing for a good 3 or 4 years - and her house is like a mansion! HAHA, she's got EVERYTHING in her town! ^_^ But she's so super nice to of done that for me, I feel all fuzzy inside. I kept telling her she didn't have to do that, but apparantly she's got Bells coming out of her ears hahaha, but still, I'm extremely grateful :D

I will give you a few highlights on what's going on in my town though:

- Can go to the island now! Cap'n's songs are SOOO cute, I don't skip them or anything (and Laura, he showed up right after the day you asked me if I had been to the island yet hehe, such awesome timing! ^_^)
- Guess my citizens love me more now, since when I first moved into town, Olaf was always gruff around me, and I wasn't sure I really liked him. Now, he's one of my favourite residents, and he's always talking to me about cool stuff and being open, I love that about AC ^_^
- Got the garden shop, and Timmy / Tommy's shop got upgraded yesterday and is now HUGE! Complete with an online order computer thingy hehe :D
- SNOW EVERYWHERE! ^_^ Living in Australia, we don't get a LOT of snow, but it's always non-existent around Christmas time, so it's nice to see snow fall - yes, even virtually hahaha :D
- House is taking forever to upgrade (I believe this is the 3rd upgrade I'm aiming for).

Speaking of, I haven't figured out the Twitter picture thing yet, but then again, I haven't attempted to set it up, so I'll do it later to get it all out of the way, since I want to show you guys a picture of my house ^_^

Also, I'd love to play AC even for half an hour with you guys, cause it would be fun to visit your towns and check out all the new stuff I haven't seen yet! ^_^

Awww I haven't played proper animal crossing in forever :( I have been playing a bit of Happy Home Designer now and then though and I can say its a lot of fun! :D very simple compared to a main game in the series but still a great and creative game! i'll see if I can get some screenshots from miiverse! :)

@ nicktendo - To be honest, when I first played the game (and still feel like this today), I thought the game was so super cute and designed well, but really, the game keeps finding ways to surprise me - such as finding Bells in a rock, that you can keep hitting to get more, and the art gallery dude who sells paintings can sell FAKE paintings! I got ripped off for like 5,000 Bells :S
So yeh, really the little things! ^_^

I've learnt now to try and be smart when I play AC, cause you'll never know what you'll discover next, and there's SO much to do which is awesome :D

---------------------------------------------------------

Astra's AC Story :)

Speaking of awesome, I just booted up my game today, only to find that I've now got a new building under construction on Main Street! ^_^ I started reading a few guides on different buildings and how to unlock them so I can put Bells towards them, so I now know what the new building is :D

Also, I've been reading up on how to get more Bells, since now I need them for everything - public work projects, my house upgrade, buying new items, etc. Maybe this will teach me how to save money in real life too :)

But yeh, this game is great - although Toy Day (the AC equivalent of Christmas Day, which happened on the 24th at 6pm), I ended up giving more than half of my residents the wrong present (and yep, I had written it all down beforehand - I also made sure when I kept talking to them on the 23rd, they wouldn't change their mind, which they can do :S Now I gotta wait till next year to get the bonus present from Jingle :( (and no, I'm not 'time travelling' by changing my 3DS clock, that's cheating XD)
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

I'm gonna put my AC rambles in spoiler posts from now on so I don't ruin the game for anyone - and cause it's a wall of text ^_^

My town has grown SOOOO much... it's insane ^_^

Ever since I found out how to get a good chunk of Bells from the Island (sharks and big bugs), I've been able to pay a lot of stuff off - my public works projects, my house (I JUST got another new room today after paying off my previous loan yesterday), and a lot of items I've wanted to buy from the various shops :D

A few weeks ago, I decided to chop down every tree and uproot every flower I could find, so I could basically plant the trees and flowers where I wanted to (yep, I'm an obsessive OCD mayor XD), and so for the last few weeks, I've been putting up trees and flower beds, and I now have every single fruit tree :D Even have bananas and coconuts growing on the beach hehe :D

Finally got Kicks (the shoe shop) a week ago, which is awesome to see in my Main Street, and I'm trying to buy a lot of stuff from all the various shops to upgrade them - still need the last 2 tiers of the Supermarket, and Shampoodles (think I'm 2,000 Bells away from getting the latter).

I also want to get the Museum Shop and the Roost Cafe.... unfortunately, the Cafe only shows up if you have the Shop, and the Shop only shows up if you have donated 50 items to the Museum itself, and you've donated at least one item from each category (bugs, fish, diving items, and art). And of course, the only thing I'm missing is ONE piece of art, cause that good for nothing seller sold me a fake piece of art last time, and haven't seen him in my town all week.... ugh. I have a feeling he'll show up either tomorrow or the next day :)

Though nothing got me so excited and happy that after wanting a Police Station for SOOOO long, one of my residents finally requested it 2 days ago! Nearly got it paid off too, only 35,000 Bells to go WOOOHOOO!! XD I went with the Modern Police Station: true, most people would think it looks like a metal trash can, but to me, it fits my sci-fi theme, and looks like a spaceship XD The other one looked too rustic and the colours were awful hahaha :D

Last thing to mention - one of the 10 villagers in my town I'm really starting to dislike - her name's Charlise, and she's a green teddy bear. While I think she's pretty cute to have around and can be nice on occasion, her personality (I found she has the 'Uchi' AC personality), really grates me. After I had come to her house to visit yesterday, I told her that her house looked cool or something, and she said I didn't have to say that cause it looked crap haha... I really do like her house - it's not awesome, but I like it, but her letter was something in the words of "you didn't have to compliment my house, but thanks for sparing the bashing".... seriously? :O

I've had that same letter from her multiple times, and everytime I read it, I feel like I'm abusing her or something :S I always help her out (I gave her medicine for a cold for like 4 or 5 days so she could feel better, I make sure she's having a good time in my town, I give her items she's looking for etc... and all she can do when I say hi is say "You're looking at me weird".... ok then.

Seriously, if there are people like this in real life, I wouldn't want to know them HAHAHA... so yeh, I've put up with Charlise for over a month now (she moved into my town a week after I first started playing AC), and she's the only citizen I just don't feel connected to. Even Greta that I somehow got from my real-life friend's town (don't know how that happened, but my friend was so upset :(, I still like - even though I don't know her well enough yet.

Bottom line: If Charlise tells me she wants to move on from my town, I'm going to let her go. And I REALLY don't like it when my citizens want to leave. If I could figure out how to replicate that real-life friend citizen trade, would anyone like her to move in to your town?

Is there a citizen you guys have, or have had in the past that you just couldn't stand? Or, who your favourite citizens have been? :D My favourites are definitely Cheri (she used to be famous but can't stand the limelight now), and Olaf (who LOVES to dance XD). Angus is a close 3rd, just cause he's adorable and he's always saying 'macmoo' hehehehe :D

I found out the other day that Animal Crossing also has a TON of world events that some countries don't have, like Setsubun in Japan or Groundhog Day in America. When I chose to buy a 3DS from my local store, there was one thing I didn't take into account (and something I never really had to worry a lot about when it came to PC games), and that's Region-locked devices - though now I feel stupid that I didn't factor that in when I bought my 3DS, since region-locked stuff is everywhere :S

But the great thing is, when it comes to AC, I found out if you visit somebody's town and their 3DS was say, a Japanese or American region one, you could get the exclusive items from that person's town when that unique world event comes around, which I think is so awesome :D Whichever game dev / devs that came up with that idea should in my opinion get a raise :D

Astra's AC Adventures!

Redd FINALLY came back to my town today! He was even selling a Mona Lisa painting too! (shame it was a fake). But there was NO WAY I was gonna get scammed again a 2nd time, since it's been like forever since Redd visited... so thanks to an online guide, I settled for a painting that was genuine, and bought that instead ^_^

Spent 50,000 Bells at the supermarket today (from the online catalogue) in preparation for the next Shop tier, and another few thousand Bells at the Able Sisters shop so I can get Shampoodle's - though both that and the supermarket have a day requirement that needs to be fulfilled in order for both shops to upgrade / be available - but at the least the cost requirement is out of the way! :D

Got another new room in my house a few days ago too, and subsequently filled it with most of the Ice furniture set I got off Snowmam ^_^ Speaking of, thanks to another online guide, I was able to make 3 different, perfect snowmen, and so Snowtyke is really happy with me and is sending something in the mail tomorrow :D

Also, I FINALLY FINALLY!!! got a brand new Diving Suit from the island (in the colour that I wanted too!!! GREEN hehehe!), and I did a LOT of diving around my town, and filled a lot more blank spots in my encyclopedia..... according to that, I've only got 5 more diving items to get and I'll of fully filled them all! WOOHOO!

Oh yeh, and paid off my Modern Police Station today, so it'll be ready tomorrow :D But it's that bit of art I got off Redd today that has made me even more happy!

Next stop... the Museum Gift Shop and Roost Cafe! XD

I do! ^_^ I got it early last month I think it was, but I read a guide a week ago and it told me if you talk to that guy before 8pm and give him some fruit, he teaches you different expressions.... wasn't easy, cause I'd always sell my fruit in my town THEN remember about it, and got too lazy to go back to the island, go on a tour and get some more fruit from those trees hahaha XD

So yeh, just got my first emotion today! The 'worry' one ^_^ Very fitting :D

@ Aimee - I'm looking forward to that day hehe ^_^ I just got the 'joy' emotion today, which I'm really happy about! Got the Daydream one a few days ago, which I also love ^_^

--------------------------------------------------------------

Astra's AC Adventures Continue!

- FINALLY got the T.I.Y. Supermarket AND Shampoodle's 2 days ago, on the SAME day! WOOHOOO! ^_^
- Got myself a new room in my house!
- Opened up 3 of the 4 Museum Exhibits and put different stuff in there, giving them all an Exhibit name too :) Oh yeh.... got the Museum Gift Shop up and running too XD
- Got a 2nd bridge I don't think I said here (about a week and a half ago), and currently making a 3rd bridge :D
- Flower beds are going well with different colours and varieties :)
- Modern Police Station has been up for a week too ^_^
- Just got a LOT of rare bugs and sharks from the Island today, had to hurry and grab the last 4 rare items since my battery indicator was going red, gonna be invested in a LOT of Bells tomorrow ^_^

Man, I am so annoyed right now..... :S

I'm working on trying to get Villager Pictures from my favourite residents (especially Cheri), which you can only get if you have friendship with that character - and even then, it's random.

According to this guide I'm reading, if you've got a high enough FS level, the villagers will send you mail with presents, and, even show up at your house uninvited cause you're good friends :D

Now, I've gotten quite a few letters from villagers that I get along with, but Charlise.... my most HATED resident in my town, has sent me like 3 letters, and 2 days ago, she turned up at my house uninvited! I actually hate her so much now I refuse to help her, only because she creeps me out and I always feel bad talking to her.

Yet somehow, she has a high friendship with me?! I talk to all my other residents so many times a day, help them out with their errands, etc, but never an unexpected visit in my house from them....

This is driving me insane. I can't STAND Charlise :S This game is so messed up sometimes I tell ya! HAHAHA XD

So I was able to get the Rosetti Mask for the Groundhog Day Event yesterday (North America only), but now the Setsubun Event is on today, and finding someone who has a Japanese version of Animal Crossing: New Leaf to get the Oni Mask is going to be trickier... I don't suppose anyone knows of someone that can please help me out? :) I've already asked at the Bell Tree Forums too, but doesn't hurt to ask here too ^_^ Thanks guys! :D
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

^Aww I'm sorry Astra, I don't have the Japanese version... otherwise I'd totally help you out! That's interesting you got a mask for the Groundhog Day event, because for the US version we get a Resetti model (it's like a little figurine of him coming out of the ground). Had I known yours was different I would have gotten you one! There are still so many foods I want to get that came from international events (there is a rainbow Korean rice cake, and an afternoon tea set... I want that one soooo bad!!)

Another thing you might enjoy trying: If you street pass with the same person more than once, your characters will start giving each other little gifts. For example, they might give a balloon or a pinwheel. I believe there's something like ten different items you can get, and they're all really cool. If you have in-person-friends with a 3DS and Animal Crossing, you should totally try it! Each time you street pass with them, you get something new!

Also, can you post the link to your blog again? I want to read about your adventures^^

HAHA, no worries Laura, it's quite alright! ^_^ I wasn't able to find someone who had a Japanese DS / version of AC, which stinks, so I missed out on the Blue Oni Mask this year (it's still possible to get the item if someone has time travelled / set their internal DS clock to the Setsubun holiday date though, but my chances are lower now that the natural date has passed).

And I was so sleepy when I wrote my last post, I must of gotten confused with Setsubun and typed 'Resetti Mask' instead HAHAHAHA, totally my bad ^_^ But yeh, the Resetti Model was the exclusive item I got from Groundhog Day, and it's now sitting comfortably in my house, though I'm wondering if I should put it in my Museum gallery with the rest of my exclusive items :P

I went to the beach the other week with some friends, and brought my DS with me on Sleep Mode, so I could have a chance to get something via StreetPass (it was really busy where I went - shops packed, etc), but nothing... was so bummed, oh well XD

Oh, and regarding my blog Laura, which I've still gotta keep updating, the link's here: http://astragothsblog.blogspot.com.au/ (http://astragothsblog.blogspot.com.au/)

Thanks for checking it out by the way! :D I'm going to update it with stuff in my town too - museum stuff, my Main St buildings, fish, bugs, etc :)

Two things:

1.) There are certain places that occasionally offer DLC if you connect to their wifi. Once connected, you have to visit the post office in your town (talk to Pelly and ask about the gift-thing). McDonald's and Best Buy both do that out here. Because of that, I think there's a higher chance that you can Street Pass random people at those places.

2.) Actually... when I talked about Street Passing w/friends, I meant like, do any of your friends (ones you can meet up with in person) have a 3DS and Animal Crossing? If so, you can both put your 3DS in sleep mode and Street Pass with each other. Each time you Street Pass with the same person, you get a new gift! It's really cute how it happens too... Basically, you go to Main Street and speak with Digby (the dog that is Isabelle's brother). Then he lets you into that home showcase area. Once you've Street Passed with your friend, your friend's character will actually be standing in that area... and if you talk to them, they give you the gift^^ I think you can get something like 10 different items for each consecutive time you Street Pass the same person. It's so cool!!

1.) There are certain places that occasionally offer DLC if you connect to their wifi.

I've heard somewhere that Nintendo actually shut down all the WiFi servers everywhere for AC:NL, so you can't get any exclusive items from the Post Office anymore, though that's just what I've heard - I don't know if that's a fact, so please correct me if I'm wrong.

2.) Actually... when I talked about Street Passing w/friends, I meant like, do any of your friends (ones you can meet up with in person) have a 3DS and Animal Crossing?

Oooh!!! I didn't know this! XD ^_^ And yes, I do have a friend who plays AC:NL, but I don't really catch up with her that often. The only other person I know who has the game is my bro... too bad he's in China right now HAHAHA :D

But thanks for letting me know about this Laura, I'll have to try it out when I play with someone I know next! ^_^

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'm doing a... I guess you can call it a 'blog series' of AC:NL called 'Astra's Adventures in Animal Crossing: New Leaf!', ranging from my own town in the game, the different buildings, my villagers that live in my town, etc.

And I've just finished posting the last pictures to the blog post right now, so feel free to read the adventure post if you'd like! :D

You can find Chapter 1 of Astra's Adventures in AC:NL here! http://astragothsblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/astrasacnladventuresch1.html (http://astragothsblog.blogspot.com.au/2016/02/astrasacnladventuresch1.html)

And thanks for reading if you do check it out! ^_^  B)  :balloon:

Astra, I have a question for you - Do you organize your flowers? I logged into my town recently (for the first time in a while) and as to be expected, the flowers and bamboo were out of CONTROL!! I want to plant the flowers in such a way that they look more appealing... possibly organizing by color, and blocking parts off so they stay more together.

This seems like something you might have already done, so I thought I'd ask if you have any tips :)
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: Astragoth on May 16, 2016, 06:56:06 PM
Yep, I do actually ^_^ I learned about which colours can make the different hybrid flowers a few weeks ago, so I organised them together to make all the unique ones :) Then I plant fertiliser next to some of the flowers for a better chance at a hybrid.

I only get roses and tulips though, I'm not very fond of the other types of flowers, but that's just me :) But yeh every day, I water the ones I keep organised, and then sell the leftover ones, and the new hybrid flowers I get (if I'm lucky), I'll plant in its own unique spot in my town - for example, purple roses I line up on each side of my house haha ^_^

Anyway, hope that helps! :D

It's the Summer Solstice in my town today! ^_^ (Well, the Southern Hemisphere version :P)

If anyone wants to come check out my town, let me know and I'll open my gates! :D

^What happens in Summer Solstice? I'd love to come check it out, but for some reason my router has been acting up and I haven't been able to connect to the internet from my 3DS at home for the past couple months... though I might be able to go to a McDonald's or something, haha!

HAHA Laura ^_^ Yeh, I hate wireless connections cause it can get pretty unreliable at times :)

As for Summer Solstice, according to Isabelle when I first logged into New Leaf today, it's one VERY long day. As in, the sun never sets XD

This is going to be VERY interesting :D

But Isabelle said you can get something off her today! And there's some unique Event cutout standees too! SUNFLOWER ONES <3 ^_^

As with all the Events that happen in my town, I clean up my town, help out villagers, etc before I do any of those events... like it's my reward for a job well done HAHA :D

P.S. The sky in my town is VERY blue today. No clouds or anything, it's beautiful :D Weird thing was, yesterday there was a THUNDERSTORM! I didn't even know they were a thing in this game, I loved it :D Just rained all day, so now I'm digging up gyroids XD

Something really sad happened to me when I played New Leaf yesterday haha, and this is gonna sound completely silly, so going to put it in a spoiler tag XD\

So a few days ago, I got told by one of my villagers (think it was Francine), that Lucky - another one of my villagers (who looks like a bandaged Mummy with an Egyptian theme for his house), was going to leave my town on a certain day.

Here's the thing.... I completely forgot to seek out Lucky to get him to stay in my town, since I had a few other things to do in the game, not to mention other stuff on my mind. So I closed down my DS and did some other stuff.

Fast forward to yesterday, and I open up New Leaf and get told by Isabelle that LUCKY IS LEAVING MY TOWN NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO :(
I go to his house and he's packed up all ready to go, I got REALLY sad :( Lucky has been with me ever since I started playing New Leaf back in November, and to completely forget he was leaving, I felt totally bad :S

And then I remembered Time Travel ^_^ For those of you who don't know, you can set your current internal Nintendo 3DS Date and Time to another one by changing it in the System Settings, and since New Leaf is a game that is tied to certain days and months of the real world calendar, this can affect the game itself. I've heard your town gets overgrown with weeds and villagers can leave if you time travel too far back though!

But time travelling back one day in my game is something else entirely - your town barely gets affected. The thing is, I DON'T Time Travel for anything, I love following the whole concept that New Leaf follows the real world calendar, with it's own Events on certain months, etc. Time Travelling is basically cheating, and would make the game not even worth playing for me.

Yet here I was, with Lucky, a villager I've had in my town since I first started playing, and he's about to leave forever just because I forgot to play New Leaf over a few days. No way I was having that.

So I broke my own rule. I cheated. There was no way I was going to let Lucky leave - I wouldn't be sad, I would time travel back ONE day so I could talk to Lucky and tell him not to leave before it was too late!

But somehow, it backfired :( When I changed my 3DS clock back one day, and logged back into New Leaf, Lucky's house had vanished. It was gone forever, and so was Lucky :( I thought I'd finally got the game to bend to my rules, only for it to laugh in my face and make me extra sad :(

I did however get a letter from Lucky, and because I had such a great friendship with him, he gave me his picture before he left ^_^ I'm still so sad that he's gone forever :(

Seeya later Lucky, thanks for being a funny, lazy (that's his personality type XD), Egyptian-mummy-dog! ^_^ <3

Pic below - spoken like a true Lazy villager HAHAHAHAHAHA.... classic Lucky ^_^

Awww!! I'm sorry Lucky moved away! I totally understand ;_; I actually haven't gone to my town in a while, but I'm sooooo afraid that my favorite residents won't be there when I log on. I already lost Walker once before (and to echo your "silliness"... I was so sad that I wrote a song about it), so I think I'd be very sad if he moved again. I don't want to lose Chops either!

On a happier note... remember how we were talking about all watching a movie together online? I think we should watch the Animal Crossing one!

Yes! Let's all watch it together while we eat cherry pie. :)

Only bummer is the place I watched it before, the link you sent to me, no longer works. Now they say you have to create an account there and log in to watch things. I have tried to find it on YouTube but most people only have it in parts not the full movie.

Oh no!!! That's sad news :( Dean, can you use your powers of movie-finding to find another link for us? Hehehe :)

I'll send the link to you Laura, Aimee and Stacy, via PM, just to be safe ^_^

Also, on a bit of a sadder note, I haven't been playing New Leaf for a while - I'll play every 1 or 2 days out of a week, and the last major thing that happened after Lucky went, was my Plaza Tree grew again! ^_^ (ok, that's a GREAT thing hehehe). This has been happening for a month or so now :)

I just haven't been finding the game that interesting to play now that I've collected most of the items ingame - not all, but enough that I've collected the rarer stuff, though not the rare fish, Gracie furniture, Island items, etc.

I have been playing the game a lot though, so maybe I'm just sick of it for the moment hehe XD

I did my update today but haven't played yet. I'm excited to see what is different, but I am curious about the Amiibo because I have the older 3DS that doesn't have the reader on it.

Man, there's so much new stuff in this update, it's insane! The best ever feature, at least to me, is the STORAGE UPGRADE! omg...... so much free space! There's SOOOO much free space I'm crying with happiness I'll have more room to put all my items in :D

I bought an Isabelle Scooter and her Jacket too ^_^ I'm so happy Isabelle is willing to sell her spare Jacket <3

The new Campground is so awesome too! If anything, it's what I thought the Campsite Public Works Project should of been :D

For the Amiibo btw Aimee, I was able to use my Isabelle one on my 3DS, didn't need the Reader or anything - hope that helps :)

A few things they didn't add in the major updates, is you can now sit on rocks, shake trees down WHILE HOLDING A TOOL OMG NO MORE SWITCHING TO YOUR NET QUICKLY TO GRAB TREE BUGS YAY XD ^_^ <3 Lot of other Quality of Life improvements too, pretty sure there's a Reddit page with all the little improvements too :D

We so gotta visit each other towns too! ^_^

Oh btw Laura, it's November! MUSHROOM FURNITURE SEASON! I remember you telling me you were after one particular bit, do you remember which one it was? I'm gonna try and save it for you ^_^

Ahhhh!! That's right! How long does it last? I am trying to figure out if the reason I missed out on this last year was because I have too many flowers in my town! I bet there just wasn't enough free space... it feels so weird the idea of having to go around removing flowers... but at the same time, I really want to finish that set once and for all, haha!

Just a random thing I noticed the other day: We were playing Smash Bros for Wii U and there are two Animal Crossing stages. I think it was because it was Saturday night, but in one of them, instead of the usual music, K.K. Slider was playing!
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf

@ Aimee - HAHA same, I had WAY too many flowers in my town. It was kind of sad when I removed them all, cause by then I wanted to 'redo' my town, place Public Work Projects in specific places, etc :) But yeh one day, I'll have heaps of them ^_^ Still trying to get Golden Roses & Tulips, its so hard :S (Gotta wait till flowers are basically wilted, then water them with the golden watering can - it's a chance they'll go gold the next day - but they don't go golden if there's the ah.... forgot what it's called, it's one of the Town Ordinance's where weeds never sprout up and you never have to water anything XD)

@ Laura - That's SO cool when game companies do crossovers with their other games! I know Blizzard does that with their games - ESPECIALLY Heroes of the Storm haha XD Was the music that K.K. was playing a new song just for those levels, or was it from another Animal Crossing game?

Thank-you for the reminder! I need to start playing again... I started up ACNL to do the update (and to make sure Walker hadn't moved out), but I haven't done any of the new things yet! We have a Kapp'n Amiibo here so I'm curious to try it out.

I know that the holidays are a super busy time, but we totally still need to hop on vent and watch the AC movie together (I bet by now that link will have changed again).

Okay I have to say: the new update is awesome. Little touches like sitting on rocks (when it happened accidentally I was like "yeeeeeeessssss!!" haha), the new "dailies," storage, and omg the campsite is so cool! I get really excited to check each day for who is hanging out there and what items they have... I get that anticipation feeling all over again! Best of all: SO MUCH MORE FOOD!! The campers seem to often have a lot of tiny food items which is like one of my favorite things ever (pancakes, onigiri, tacos, omg... I don't have enough Meow coupons to get all the things I like haha)

^Aww thanks, Roo! I figured out how to get my 3DS to connect again, so I should be able to go to other towns again! I'm noticing all these little subtle changes with the new patch... I love that now you can interact with things even though you're sitting down. I have a PC Cafe in my Museum, and before you couldn't turn the computers on or off when sitting in a chair... but now you can, and it feels so cool! Such a tiny thing, but makes a big difference :)

Also... how do you guys get your residents to change their furniture around? Is it mainly by sending them gifts? Or do you have to get them to purchase from Re-Tail?

I posted this in another thread as well, but figured I should share it with you guys since Astra mentioned not knowing about it~

If you get the Wii U or 3DS items from fortune cookies in Animal Crossing (the ones you buy with Play Coins from the Nooklings' shop), there are GAMES INSIDE!!! They are both really fun... but the one I got massively addicted to was Puzzle League. I would be playing more of Dessert Island escpae, but I ran out of Play Coins (you need them to play that game)

Man, I've gotta start playing New Leaf again :S This is now by far the LONGEST time I haven't played for, since I've been busy with real life stuff, the new WoW expansion, other games, and just stuff in general, so haven't really had much time to play.

That, and I'm not really looking forward to (STILL) reorganising everything into my new storage space - all the stuff I've collected since then is lying all over my town haha XD

Also, I feel terrible as a friend :( I missed Gloria's, and my virtual BESTIE Cheri's!......I don't deserve virtual friends imo :( (Yes, I feel that bad :S)

Having said that, the new minigames via the virtual consoles look great and very fun! :D I'll have to play them sometime when I'm in New Leaf... not to mention get a heck of a lot more Play Coins too! XD ^_^

Ahhh you guys, I can now join you guys in the Amiibo-card-reader-owner-club! Hehehe... Steven gave me an Amiibo card reader, a couple packs of Amiibo cards, and a pack of Sanrio/Animal Crossing crossover cards for my birthday... I loved Sanrio as a kid (and well, as a not-kid lol), and I had no idea they did this collaboration~! I can't wait to try everything out :)

Do you guys have any tips for me about using the Amiibos? Do you still need Meow coupons in order to purchase the items from each of the villagers that visit your town via Amiibo card? I'm so excited to see Reese's grand breakfast!!

This is an example of one of the Sanrio crossover cards (not sure if any of you are familiar with Sanrio-stuff, but this one is based off of the characters "Little Twin Stars" ^___^):

Someone I follow on Twitter has launched a Kickstarter for a new game in the style of tetris attack! There is a free to play version available already on the ios app store. It's called Super Plexis and it's pretty good! theres a few days left if you want to check out the game on KS. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1997496052/super-plexis (https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1997496052/super-plexis)

^Thanks for the recommendation, Nick! Gosh I can't believe how addictive Puzzle League is lol. After the stressful whirlwind of an all-nighter I pulled before the Rakuen trailer came out, I allowed myself some time to just veg out playing Score Attack mode... It makes me want to eat fruit haha.

I didn't realize you get 5 MEOW coupons a day from talking to Wisp and bringing an Amiibo (or Amiibo card) in! That is a LOT!! I gotta save up now since there are so many new vans to explore, haha...
Title: Re: Animal Crossing New Leaf
Post by: Astragoth on May 30, 2017, 09:54:00 PM
So since my computer has been down (again), I've been playing a lot more Animal Crossing these days - I actually bought Happy Home Designer about a month ago, but only played 'round about half an hour's worth, but I like it so far :D

The reason I started playing again, is ever since the Welcome Amiibo update came out for New Leaf, I've wanted to reorganise everything from my 'closet inventory' into the massive storage bit you can buy from Nook's... only problem is, I had a LOT of stuff I've obtained, not to mention most of my town was overflowing with items on the ground.

Suffice it to say, I just couldn't be bothered organising it, so I just didn't play New Leaf all and kept putting it off :) Anyway, with my comp down, I FINALLY as of a few days ago finished organising everything in my town, pulling up weeds, organising all the flowers, catching up with my villagers who I hadn't caught up with in forever (some of them were cross or sad they hadn't seen me in ages :( ... but yeh, now I've started dismantling most of my Public Work Projects so I can put new ones in various areas of the town.

Basically, I'm overhauling my town and everything, now I've had a massive clean out ^_^

Also, since I recently learnt about a new set of Amiibo cards that specialise in bringing RV's to the town, I bought a pack of those (20 booster packs worth hehe), and hopefully I'll get them delivered to my house this week (my RL house :P)

Here's hoping I get some awesome new RV cards! ^_^

P.S. It's been a while, but I finally found a 10th villager that I was interested in, believe it or not, from the campsite! His name Knox, and he's a CHICKEN! <3 (albeit a Cranky one, but I'm sure we'll get along - Angus, the other cranky Villager who lives in my town, is also Cranky - but we're best friends now <3)

Haha the chickens in ACNL look so cool! All the bird-creatures actually; Pave cracks me up so much, he's so fabulous lol :)

And I totally know what you mean about postponing things because you need to do a massive clean-up. My house is overflowing with all the new food items, and I really need to make a restaurant so that I won't just have past and red bean desserts laying all over the floor lol. I have a bunch of Amiibo cards (including the Sanrio-AC-crossover pack) that I have been saving up MEOW coupons for, but I haven't used them yet because I am trying to organize first so I'll have room for everything!

Do you have screenshots of your favorite rooms?

I still can't find my 3DS charger! We must have a ghost. My village is going to be overrun with weeds by the time I get back to it.

So, I don't know about anyone else here, but I was pretty disappointed in the mobile version of AC. It just wasn't as fun to me as New Leaf. I am jealous about the Mario cross over stuff happening though, and wish it could happen in New Leaf as well.

Ah, I'm totally with you on this - While I love that Nintendo was branching out with the Animal Crossing IP, I just didn't enjoy Pocket Camp the way I did the other versions. I think part of it was that it felt too structured for me; like, it kind of had that freemium game feel to it, if that makes sense. Certain things felt strange and un-AC to me; like getting praised for talking with the animals for example... It made it feel like talking with them was a task to be checked off, as opposed to a friendship to explore.

Another thing was that I'm used to AC being a game where you only interact with other humans when you make the conscious decision to (like, going to a friend's town or inviting them in)... I didn't like the pressure to leave kudos, and it felt kind of weird seeing other humans randomly show up all over the place. It made me feel a bit... invaded? Haha I don't know why. But yeah, it just felt different I think. I'm really hoping Nintendo will introduce a new Animal Crossing for Switch that feels more like the old games!

E3 is coming up soon, and with it Nintendo's E3 Direct Presentation! The first thing I do when I go on the 'Net every day now is to type into Google News, "animal crossing switch" XD

I believe Nintendo's E3 presentation will be on June 12, and it's getting closer and closer! I'm still holding out hope they'll announce something Animal Crossing Switch related though! Me and my brother are really excited, and we both agree that even if they just say it's coming next year and don't show anything, I'll be happy. Though I would love it if they do show new info on the game, I'll just be happy that it's announced at all <3 ^_^
