Wow it's been awhile since I've checked in.  I'll join in again this year.

I'm a fan of anime (boku no hero academia is one of my favorites now), DotA, Starcraft and other blizzard games and batman,

Look forward to doing secret santa again!

Betrayal at House on the Hill is a lot of fun with friends.  Also phoenix Wright: Ace attorney is pretty good

Out of curiosity/suggestions, I watched Re:Zero.  Pretty good show, had a sweet song for a tear-jerking love confession scene:

Won't spoil it, but it's a bittersweet moment.

Hey! so for everyone looking for a guide, here is a good one I found:

Some tools (like pokemon finders, experience calculators etc):

I'm really surprised at how a game has gotten people to go outside and socialize again haha.
Good luck on your Pokemon Adventures everyone!

Happy Belated Bday Laura!

@omni any basic hosting provider is good, but unfortunately for the services you ask for, it requires $$.  Basically the more control you want, the more you have to pay.  One thing to also consider is the bandwidth.  That cost can add up really quickly, especially if people hotlink or you accumulate a lot of traffic, not to mention DDOS. (for example, the webcomic The Oatmeal posted his monthly Amazon Web services bill after huffpost hotlinked his image)

What kind of stuff are you selling?  If it's arts and crafts, for example, you can set up an etsy page that will essentially take care of everything but the store content for you.  You pay for each listing  (a few cents a month) and a portion of your sales.

Or maybe something like a free site (wix, blogspot, wordpress) that links to a e-commerce site (amazon, ebay, etsy) for the meantime, and once you have the capital, you can look at dedicated solutions

Going to be doing some cleaning and maybe meet up for dinner with some friends and the some games.

As for new years resolutions, I think I'm definitely going to work out regularly, finish some of my cosplay and other projects.

@supershigi Ahhhhhh thanks so much Laura! It just came in the other day and I love it!

StarCrafts is such an adorable series and the way he draws the zergling is way too cute! I still need to come up with a name for him/her, but it's already helping me out with gaming matches!

Have a Merry Christmas everyone!

Yay it's that time of year again!

Physical or digital gifts are fine,
my interests are gaming (DotA, Starcraft, Diablo, FallOut), music and anime.

Looking forward to it!

Haha I think it's below average for the region.  Like Texas was pretty rainy as of late in the 70s, where last year with droughts and all it was in the 90s.

Having lived in some of the areas:
New Mexico - You might see some greenery.  The local vegetation only blooms/turns green after rains and cooler temps (usually dry 80s+)

Arizona - Pretty much a monument to the hubris of man.  Not unusual for 110+ temps during the summer months.

The husband and I have been working really hard to get our 10,000 steps in each day. We both have FitBit trackers and have been getting our goal for almost a month now. Sadly the scale isn't moving downward for either of us, which is strange since we upped our activity and not our food, but at least we are doing it together and getting more movement in our days. :)

There was a flurry of news reports a couple of months ago about an article written by some health professionals that stated exercise doesn't help much with weight loss. They clarify that exercise has plenty of other benefits, but when it comes to weight control, their advice seems to be to focus less on calorie counting and exercise and more on the types of calories that are consumed. There is still plenty of debate on the subject.

Yeah, depending on what kind of exercise you do, it can do different things that may or may not impact weight.  Like I am lifting now, with the goal of building muscle mass, so I may not actually lose weight.  However, muscle is ~4x dense as fat, and with proper training and diet, you essentially convert the fluffiness into muscle which results in a "leaner" look.  Another side effect is that more and larger muscles require more energy, which also helps keep your metabolism in check.

The best thing to do to "cut" fat though is cardio, 20 mins a day.  The general rule is energy in and energy out - if you consume less calories than you use, you lose weight.  Consume more, you gain weight.  There are slight nuances (portion sizes, appetite control) that you can tweak to couple with exercise to achieve your results better.

(I'm not sure if the last riddle was solved or not... but here is a new one just in case)

A man was driving a black truck. His lights were not on. The moon was not out. A lady was crossing the street. How did the man see her?

Spoiler for Hiden:
It was daytime
