So I've been taking protein bars/mix after workouts, but for health reasons, I'd like to start using something that doesn't have much soy.  Does anyone know of anything portable I can use?  Or should I just keep stuff like hard-boiled eggs in the fridge to eat when I get home?  (Something that won't take long to prepare after a workout, please.)

Do you have any other restrictions? (for example: if you need it to be low sodium or vegetarian) Because one thing that comes to mind is beef jerky (or turkey jerky if you have that)... it's got a lot of protein and is very portable (it does have a lot of sodium though). Besides that:

-Almonds (high in protein, easy to carry around - I like to keep a canister of Blue Diamond ones around)
-Snacks that you can prepare beforehand and just keep in the fridge as you mentioned (hard boiled eggs, chicken tender strips that you could just eat with your hand, cheese, etc.)
-If you can have milk, this is a good source as well.
