How do folks feel about another Game Jam?
« on: October 29, 2016, 11:58:05 PM »
Hello everyone~! I thought I'd make a quick post here to see if folks would be interested in participating in another game jam! Last year's was such a great event (gosh, did a whole year already go by??)... it was so much fun seeing everyone's dev logs and final entries, so I thought perhaps we could do another one in the near future.

Anyways, post here if this sounds like something you'd want to do, and if there's enough interest I'll try to set it up again ^__^/

For those who didn't see it, here are last year's game jam games:

I'd be up for that!  I really enjoyed the last one a lot!

Any idea what the theme might be this time?

I had a nightmare about a dislocated fox pupil that had come to life so I'm letting it be known I am already going to recommend surrealist revenge as a theme lol

I'd be all in! I've had RMXP for upwards of 2 years now and haven't completed a project yet. I've been thinking that a month-long jam would be a good opportunity for me to actually make a game from start to finish without losing inspiration.

Yay, that is awesome~! Okiedokie, I'll try to get one of these organized then! As with last year, we'll vote on a main them as well as an optional sub-theme, folks can use the IRC chat channel in order to discuss stuff, people can start their own dev log, and anyone can share advice for the participants about jamming/game making software/etc. I'll make sure to post more information about this later :)

In that case, I'm going to slate this for January (hm, I've never written "slate this" before... is that even a phrase? It sounds funny to me... I'm gonna Google it... hm, inconclusive. I will plan for this to be during the month of January) (shigi likes to type out her thoughts as they enter her mind)

But yes... January! I will post details later, and start up the theme thread sometime next month :)

I can't say i've heard "slate this" so much as "slate it" but that might be a regional thing.

Sounds great! I usually do one at uni around January but they aren't doing it next year any more so this will fill the gap nicely! :D

There won't be any limitations, so feel free to use any program you like!
