60, are you just planning on animating line-art? I don't know how much animation and drawing you've done, but the KISS method would probably not go remiss here. I've seen some tutorials covering how Ryu's animations in the Street Fighter series have changed over the years, in terms of number of frames for an attack. While we commonly expect to see really smooth animations now, I think key-frame only animations are a great place to start.

Ryu's uppercut went from like three frames to 72 or so over the years I think? three is soooo much more doable of course XD

My little sword animation took me like a month or more of my free time to do, so I'll definitely not be hand-animating my Jam.

In fact, I'm currently sans monitor at my house computer, so I'm not sure how I'm going to jam at all >.<

I've already more or less cheated and come up with a basic plan for a game... maybe that will help me catch up to y'all when I get a screen again >.>
