Leeble Game Jam 4: THE GAMES!
« on: March 12, 2019, 10:34:46 PM »
Hello everyone, and welcome to...
Leeble Game Jam 4: THE GAMES!!

 :pompoms:

During the month of February (and perhaps just a smidge earlier for some of you, hehe), folks here challenged themselves to create a game based around the community-chosen theme of "Wishes" (with the optional sub-theme of "bufkus"). Though not everyone managed to finish, it was still fun watching folks learn about the game development process. And of course, a big CONGRATULATIONS to everyone who did finish their project! You can check out the jammers' games below! A link to download the game along with brief description and screenshot can be found within each spoiler tag!

Note: I think most of these games are standalone, but just in case: If you're having trouble playing any of the RPG Maker games, you might need to install the RTP (which can be found here):

Members of the Leeble Forest server as of the time of this post may apply to be a part of this "experiment" by answering the following questions, and DMing them to me on Discord. PLEASE DO NOT DISCUSS YOUR ANSWERS WITH FELLOW FOREST MEMBERS UNTIL AFTER THE EXPERIMENT HAS BEEN CONDUCTED.

**If you're unable to answer any of these questions, feel free to leave them blank.

1.) What is one of your childhood nicknames or alternatively, a former online name (please choose a name that people don't already know).
2.) How many countries have you visited?
3.) Have you ever been suspended from school, and if so, for what?
4.) Tell me 3 weird things about yourself.
5.) What is your favorite food?
6.) What is something that you collect?
7.) What is one of your "stupid human tricks" (i.e. you can touch your tongue to your nose, you can do a backflip, you can break the world record for how quickly you can say the alphabet backwards, etc.)
8.) What is the maximum number of pets you've had at any given time?
9.) What is the grossest food you've ever had?
10.) What's the clumsiest thing you've ever done?

Minecraft Specific Questions (Again, please don't discuss these answers with fellow Forest members, or attempt to peek at other folks' stats until after the experiment has been conducted. Understandably, you probably cannot complete this section until after JuuNi revives the server...):

2.) distance by horse
3.) animals bred
4.) distance by pig
5.) cake slices eaten
6.) mob kills

Oh my, I completely forgot to post what I thought about the games.

-Average Potato: "Monica & Ham's Adventure"-
This was very charming! I like how you drew all the graphics too.

-AlbinoGrimby: "The Ferry Girl"-
Very intriguing! I also really liked your blog post on how you bypassed the drag-and-drop aspect of RPG Maker with Ruby.

-Akira: "Rex makes a wish"-
The music is fantastic, I am actually listening to it again right now as I write this post.
Also your friend's game engine is really impressive!

-Kamipixel: "Death Wish"-
Haha nicely done, nicely done.  (Awaits for the genie to return.)

-EN.I: "Bufkus in a can"-
This is really neat! Seeing creations that work on old systems always fascinate me.

-supershigi: Break the Ice at Moon Sun Rainbow Land-
Very interesting! I am not sure if this has happened yet, but I am quite curious to hear how it goes.

-P.Yoshi: Junko (complete version)-
Wow, I can really see all the work you put into it this past year.
I haven't finished it yet, but I would definitely like to see if I can 100% it.

Oh yeah, while I am at it. (Should have also posted this a month ago...)
It was discovered that my game Wish Granters won't open the path to the ending if you grant Bufkus' wish last. (aka, if it's the 4th wish you grant.)
(Thanks for letting me know about it Akira!)
